Wonderful Wednesday Wedding Inspiration : The Invitations

Yes! I know you are so excited about Wonderful Wednesday Wedding Inspiration! And this one is all about INVITATIONS. These are the first impressions for your guest. It's what will set the mood for your wedding day. They can be very simple, or they can have more folds and pages than an elaborate origami. There are soooo many options out there, that it can be a bit overwhelming! So that is why I am here, to help inspire you {and maybe even help you narrow down your choices...}.

When it comes to wedding invitations, there are a lot of ways to go. 

1. Professional Wedding Invitations. This is probably your most expensive option, but they are just so darn cute. This is your print shop, online, and specialty boutique printers that sell one of a kind creations tailored to fit your wedding. These are your websites like Minted and Shepaperie. 

2. Next we have your "Big Box" Online Discount Printing Companies {which is exactly what I went with}. This is one of your cheaper options. It's websites like Vistaprint and 123print. What I like about these guys is that you can pick out one of their templates, or upload your own design that you {or someone really artsy} created for you. One thing though, with vistaprint I would recommend getting the "Linen Finish" for your paper choice. It's worth the extra $3 for a good quality invitation.  

3. Then there is your store bought invitations. These are your sets of invitations that are all ready and put together; you just have to take them home, print your info on them, and stick them in the mail. There are some cute ones at Target and Michael's. This is a cheap option, but it doesn't allow for much individuality and creativeness. 

4. Last, there is your variety of DIY, unique wedding invitations. These are the ones that you get on sites like Etsy, or you find a free template download on some random wedding blog, or you create them with your own sweat and blood using supplies from your local craft store. All of these are great options, and it really just comes down to how much you want to spend {and how much time you have... short story: I spent several sleepless weekends trying to create the perfect wedding invitation from cardstock, a sewing machine, and my home printer. After the 3rd (or was it the 4th or 5th?) failed attempt I went online and ordered some for a whole lot cheaper, and it was a lot less time consuming. done and done!}.

Total side note... there are lots of ways to spend hours on creating individualized DIY things for your wedding. I recommend prioritizing where you want your time being spent doing all those things {there are only so many hours between now and your wedding day}. Because in the end, for me it was more valuable spending that time on table decorations and our bouquets then on invitations. Ok, that's my 2 cents on the topic :)
